One of the greatest joys I have in life is the privilege of walking beside clients on their journey to healing and wellness. I work hard to provide clients with a safe and comfortable space where they can address the issues of importance to them. I view myself as a fellow traveler whose role it is to collaboratively create a map to get clients where they desire to go. No two clients are the same, and no two maps are the same. Each experience with clients is new and deserves a fresh approach which is based on your needs, not mine. I work hard to get to know you, your story, your goals, your strengths, and your growing edges. I hope each and every client leaves the session feeling heard, valued, and respected. As a Marriage and Family Therapist I work with individuals, couples, and families from a systemic point of view. I work with clients to figure out where the various puzzle pieces fit inside their lives and relationships. I have earned a Masters and PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy, and along the way have taken extra training in a variety of areas. I am a sex therapist, a clinical sexologist, a certified sex addiction therapist, a certified partner trauma therapist, and a Gottman Level 3 trained therapist. I invest in the best training in order to provide you with the best tools. Clients come to me to work on issues of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, anger management concerns, recovering from sexual assault/sexual abuse, and for exploring issues of sexual identity or sexuality issues. I am comfortable working with individuals, couples, and entire families — and I am comfortable working with adolescents and adults. I am in-network with several insurance panels. In working with couples, I primarily utilize the Gottman Method Couples Therapy. This approach to therapy is one of the most well researched and effective approaches to helping couples resolve issues, increase connection, improve communication, and gain a better understanding of how relationships work. When I am not in the office, you can usually find me hanging out at home, tending the garden, collecting eggs from the chickens, caring for our goats, harassing our dogs and cats, or harassing my very patient wife and very tolerant adult children. I sometimes get to play golf (and sadly lose A LOT of balls). And I enjoy working with various local groups such as the Human Rights Coalition of Alachua County, the Human Rights Council, the PRIDE Center, and working to help make our community a safe place for all people. Licensed in or able to provide telehealth services in the following states: Delaware, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia

College is a time of growth, independence, and figuring out who you are—but it can also come with a lot of pressure. Between academics, relationships, friendships, career decisions, and trying to balance everything, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or like you’re expected to have it all figured out. As a younger male therapist, I offer a perspective that can feel relatable and approachable for college-aged men. I understand that opening up about stress, anxiety, relationships, or personal struggles doesn’t always come naturally, especially when you’re used to handling things on your own. My approach is laid-back, honest, and judgment-free. Therapy isn’t about someone telling you how to live your life—it’s about having a space to talk openly, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and develop practical tools to handle life with more confidence. Whether you’re struggling right now or simply want to become a better version of yourself, I’m here to help.

At Clarity Cove Counseling, we specialize in helping children, teens, adults, and families navigate anxiety, ADHD, trauma, school and work stress, emotional overwhelm, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Many of the people who come to us are bright, capable, and caring but underneath, they may be overthinking everything, putting enormous pressure on themselves, struggling with confidence, feeling overwhelmed by expectations, or simply not feeling like themselves. Parents may be wondering how to help a child who is anxious, shutting down, struggling socially, or having big emotions. Adults may look like they have everything together while privately feeling exhausted, stuck, disconnected, or caught in the same patterns over and over again. We help our clients understand what's happening beneath the surface and develop practical tools they can use in everyday life. That might look like a teen learning to manage anxiety without avoiding the things that matter to them, a student finding strategies that make ADHD more manageable, or a child learning to understand and regulate big emotions. For adults, progress might look like quieting the constant mental noise, setting boundaries without feeling consumed by guilt, understanding how past experiences are affecting present relationships, responding rather than reacting, and letting go of the pressure to always hold everything together. It can mean feeling more confident in your decisions, more connected in your relationships, and more like yourself again. For families, change might look like calmer mornings, fewer power struggles, more open conversations, and parents feeling more confident about how to support their child without constantly wondering if they're doing the right thing. Our goal isn't simply to help you feel better during a therapy session. We want what happens in the therapy room to translate into real life, at home, at school, at work, in your relationships, and in the way you see yourself. Located in Mooresville, NC, Clarity Cove Counseling offers a warm, down-to-earth space where you can feel understood, build meaningful skills, work through what's keeping you stuck, and begin creating a life that feels calmer, more connected, and more like your own.

You’re used to keeping it together, even when it’s hard. Maybe you're the overthinker, the perfectionist, the one who’s always there for everyone else. I work with teens and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, identity, and life transitions. My style is warm, supportive, and grounded in trauma-informed CBT. Together, we’ll get curious about what’s going on beneath the surface and build skills to help you move forward. When you are ready to talk, call Gracefully Balanced Counseling at our office number or shoot me an email. I understand that reaching out for support is a big step, often taken while overwhelmed by difficult emotions. Many of my clients come to me feeling exhausted, whether it manifests as persistent worry, disconnection from loved ones, or low self-esteem. You might feel stuck, sensing that something’s off, even if you can't pinpoint exactly what it is. These feelings are common, and you are not alone. I often work with clients processing past trauma, seeking greater self-awareness, and coping with ongoing stress. My goal is to meet you where you are and support you in forging deeper connections with yourself, others, and the world. The clients I work best with are often the ones who appear “put together” on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected on the inside. They’re typically reliable, high-functioning and used to being the person others depend on but privately, they may be dealing with anxiety, burnout, overthinking, or a sense that they’ve lost themselves in their roles. Many of my clients struggle with people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, or feeling responsible for others’ emotions. Some are navigating major life transitions like relationship changes, co-parenting, or figuring out their next steps in school or career. Others may not have a clear “reason” for therapy but know something feels off and want more clarity, balance, or a stronger sense of self. I work well with folks who are open to looking a little deeper, at patterns in relationships, how past experiences may still be showing up, and how stress or emotions live in the body. You don’t have to have it all figured out. If you’re willing to be curious about yourself and want practical tools alongside deeper understanding, this space can be a good fit.

Therapy is not always easy. But that doesn't mean it is without joy. In therapy, we get to come to an appreciation of both joy and sorrow that are the consequences of living a fully human life. Through appropriate challenge and support, we are able to expand the range of our humanity and our participation in the world. My approach is grounded in brief psychodynamic models of treatment. I believe that therapy can help make us conscious of the adjustments we have made to cope with our life circumstances and can shine a light on new possibilities towards greater authenticity. I continually seek to improve my own utility as a therapist, and I read voraciously towards that end. My understanding of psychology, sociology, and social work provide not only a foundation for understanding client struggles, but also a basis from which to conceptualize growth and solutions.

I welcome individuals from all backgrounds. I prioritize working with any and all women, girls, members of the Queer and Trans communities, and expecting parents, ages 15+. As a cisgender white woman I am aware of the privileges I hold and I honor the perspectives, backgrounds, and lived experiences of my clients. I believe in a collaborative therapeutic process and therefore will ask for your input in goal-setting and treatment planning conversations. I will at times offer clinical guidance, but not before hearing what it is you are seeking and hoping to gain from your therapy experience. My work is trauma-informed, person-centered, and strengths-based, aimed at co-creating strong therapeutic rapport. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), Mindfulness and Grounding, and Therapeutic Art. Through each of these interventions, I aim to strengthen and empower your voice and provide a safe space to be who you are, without judgment and without expectation.
